Climate has been on for an extended period of time

This is a new one for me, but we got home this afternoon (after a week in the alps) and as we came through baggage / immigration, I set the car to warm up. Just the climate on, not defrost or anything mad. All was good, drove home and had no issues - apart from a very close rear ending! (Also lost zero % in the week away!)

Anyway. After a hour or so of being home, my phone pinged and said “climate has been on for an extended period of time”. I hadn’t touched it since getting in the car and normally it recognises a drive and switches off afterwards. It’s this a new glitch or a one off?

On 44.25.2 and not really used it since the download.

I had a different but similar issue the other day, I got an alert on my phone to tell me climate had been turned off after I’d got out of the car, not sure what caused it but I got a subsequent update to 44.30.1 and it hasn’t happened since.

I’ll get the router on that covers the drive and see if I need an update too

Did you accidentally turn on the HVAC through the app or touch the “keep on” button before getting out? I sometimes get this when I forget to deactivate my morning HVAC automation and the car warns me after it’s been on for an hour. A very useful notification!

Didn’t touch the app after getting out - had a very excited 5 year old doing a late Xmas. Didn’t touch the screen as far as I know.

Great notification as you say though. Without it, it would still be running

Happened to me the other day after my wife got home. Couldn't understand it till i discovered she had left her phone in the car.
