Communication firmware fault.

Is anyone else having communications issues with maps and data streaming failing. I s as m being told it’s a firmware/software issue but it only started (for me) a few weeks ago

What firmware do you have? I don’t know which cellular provider Tesla uses in England, but is there good reception where you’re seeing the problem?

Yes, phone works well but the car stops communicating and streaming data. Maps stop updating and music streaming stops. Radio still works. I believe the system uses E.
Really poor software quality but not sure if it’s a fault introduced during a recent software update, if it is then the testing is poor

I never got that build, but I’ve had both 2023.44.30.3 and 30.6 and haven’t seen that issue. Have you tried rebooting? Who told you it was a firmware issue?

Had same issue with first holiday update but as of 2023.44.30.5.1 seems to have been corrected.

Just had an update. No improvement. Done resets a few times but no better. I have both a VW iD and Tesla and the software on the Tesla is very inferior and very buggy. Not very impressed to be honest

How do you know it’s not a hardware issue?

The Tesla engineers are saying firmware. To me that is physical but they tell me it requires a software update to fix it.

It would probably be more appropriate for you to ask about connectivity issues to people in the same country as you, since cellular connectivity can be different between countries.

Anyone else noticed the signal for premium connectivity has got a lot worse recently? I used to be able to watch netflix in places where phones don't have signal (ee and O2 network). But now it seems to lose signal everywhere, even places where my phone has 4g signal. Is this likely an issue...

How many people are having connectivity issues?

How do you get into the service menu? will that invalidate any warranty? strange thing is there is reception, can be anywhere betwen 1 bar and 4 bars on LTE, but just doesnt connect to anything.

For a Tesla, firmware and software are used interchangeably. A physical issue example would be a malfunctioning cellular receiver in the car.
