I just started having this metallic creaking sound, kind of like a ratchet, when I’m accelerating or decelerating. Doesn’t seem limited to certain speeds. I don’t hear it at constant speed, nor when going over bumps. Sounds like it’s coming from front right wheel area. I couldn’t get a good video but this is the exact sound, though mine is a bit milder:
About a year ago I had the axle click on the front left side (fixed), but that was only ever a single click, not like this rapid clicking sound. I did just happen to leave my car sitting for a week when I was on vacation, but that may be a coincidence. Someone else had a similar sound and said it went away on its own, but not sure what that would point to.
I scheduled a service appt but the soonest is 5 weeks out. Any idea what this might be?
