Creaking tailgate - mobile technician visit

Anyone know anything about Tesla changing the tailgate hinges. Apparently there has been 2 modified versions since the one without a grub screw (in the middle). I guess I am on version 1. I saw a video on here about bending hinges..news to me.

Aye, my MY is a June 23 but creaks like mad from the back. Might just do an SC app.

My model y was driving me insane with the creaking noises coming from the back. I managed to isolate it to the rubber bumper pads rubbing on their plastic contact points around the boot. I put black self adhesive discs where they contact the plastic and now it’s absolutely silent and I enjoy driving so much more.

I used the soft side of self adhesive Velcro, cut to size.

No pics I’m afraid as I am away but they are the kind you use to stop furniture marking the floor.

Mine had also being driving me mad and noticed pushing down above the lights creaked. I extended the rubber bungs which stopped it but increased the panel gap. Didn’t even think about that rubber seal. Explains why was quieter when it rained. Will try some gummi pflege I have in garage and close the gap back down.

Amazing how many noises from the rear this created

Now to find out the metallic twang coming from drivers footwell/maybe suspension area
