Dashcam Usage

I'm a new first time Tesla owner as of today and keep stumbling over little things that should be obvious but are not yet.

Does the dashcam function work like any other dashcam device, that is it can be set to constantly record?

I keep seeing controls for "Beep" and "10 min saves" but not normal continuous recording to storage.

It only saves during an event which includes an accident, pressing the horn, or pressing the camera button. While it is continuously running, it only saves 10 minutes prior and about 1 minute after the “event.”

You must enable the Dashcam save on honk in the safety and security settings. Saved Dashcam recordings are retained until you delete them.

I have watched many teslacam videos on youtube, some of which don't directly involve the Tesla. I guess the owners are manually taping the save button multiple times?
