Dashcam videos not recording unless honked?

Does dashcam record only if I honk or manually save it?

I remember that the past 1 hour (or 10 minutes) or so recording is always available until recently. Nowadays it doesn't seem to store any dashcam as it used to, unless I manually save it. (Previously, once I reach home if I go to the dashcam app it used to show the past 1 hour or so recording in smaller batches of 10 minutes, which it doesn't seem to do anymore).

I tried formatting the flash drive but still same behaviour. Anyone else facing this issue?
