Yes. that's required to get the 1.24% rate, unless you have Tesla match it. In that case, you wouldn't need to do the direct deposit. Per DCU, your "entire" paycheck needs to be deposited.

Yes, but you will need to setup the checking account with them. So, in total, you will need a checking (to show intent) and savings (the min).

They are 100% stickler on this. However, their rate is so low even without direct deposit you can qualify for 1.74% (1.99% to start then a .25% discount for EV). Anoth45 .5% discount if you have direct deposit.

Also, I only deposited $350 every two weeks (expecting loan pmt to be about $700) and was enough for PLUS status.

Been 5 days since I initiated an application and no email or response from DCU.

You don't, just need to tell them you will do that to get the lower rate. You will have to actually go through the application process for them to send you the term sheet to get Tesla to match. You'll actually need to have a VIN and the purchase agreement from Tesla to start that process.

It is normally instant if you don’t get the technical issue. Try call them, 5 days is way too long for just account opening.

Applied for the DCU loan, but didn't receive an instant decision on whether I was approved or not. Looks like the loan processing dept needs to be there in office to review loan applications

Yeah, their office is closed on Sunday and today. If you didn’t get approved instantly, try call them tomorrow. They will ask you to upload MVPA with DCU as financing party.
