Thanks, Surfrasch. Do you know if you will be issued a temp NY license plate, or bring a temp NH one down with you when you pick up your car? Also, I seemed to recall reading somewhere that in situation like this Tesla would be paying the one-way expense from NH to NY. Is that still the case? Apologize for all these questions from this anxious prospective Model 3 owner. Thanks again.

Ha.....we are thinking alike, Hector just emailed me to confirm Friday and I had also asked him about the temporary plates then saw your question 2 min later! I assume Mt. Kisco supplies them, but I've asked.....will confirm when he confirms. Also yes, Tesla is reserving me a one way rental car from Enterprise, Wednesday pickup as we are heading to NY for the holiday anyhow....so the timing worked well.

okay....it will come with NY temp plates, .....Hector said they are 10 day plates, but my local friend who took delivery two months ago just told me they are 60 day NY plates, and two weeks later he received FedEx with paperwork to get his NH plates.

Just got an update on things. Car was supposed to leave Chicago last Wednesday and get to Norfolk on Friday, but that never happened and it's still in Chicago. New ETA is 11/23 for it to arrive in Dedham... hopefully it'll actually make it there this time. Anyone else's car stuck in Chicago too?

How do you know where the car is? My IDA says that she has no information on car's location. (My delivery is scheduled for the 26th.)

That's interesting......when my car was in Chicago a week ago, I was told it would route through NJ (not sure where) via car truck, then go to Mt. Kisco. Why would they send a car for MA to Virginia first?

Got the paperwork done today. Car is still in RI. Chance it shows up tomorrow morning for an afternoon delivery. More likely that it shows up at night (if at all) and I get home delivery on Wednesday only a couple hours before I fly to VA for the holiday.

Frustrating, to say the least....

I’m still really confused how they don’t know what cars get loaded each day. What if they just never load someone’s because new cars keep arriving!

Sorry, should've been more clear. They meant Norfolk, MA.

Your IDA should be able to ping your car to get its location.

Got another update from Tesla and my car is supposed to get there today! The person I talked to pinged the location as it being on 95 going through Hopkinton RI. Surprised how specific of a location they were able to give but I'm excited to hopefully get my car before Thanksgiving. I have some family members who are really excited to see it.

Quickly losing my patience here. They gave me a special number to contact them at and I still can't get any response. At this point, I just want an answer. I no longer have a delivery appointment in my account and it's now saying "December delivery"....

Pimentaco, Did they have you make the payment, despite the car not being delivered? I have an appointment for pickup on Nov23 but when I called today to confirm they told me they will home deliver, but I need to go and sign the papers. I really don't wan't to make the payment until I have received my car. I wonder if I can make the payment to the person that delivers the car at my home?

I don't want home delivery and I am certainly not paying without taking the delivery. Let's see what happens.

They told me due to high volumes all cars will be home delivered. Good thing I called because I don't think I would have known and would have ended up disappointed on Friday. The way he sound it, it doesn't seem we have a choice, because they are cramped with cars. My car is in RI currently. They will provide me with a rental from enterprise while I wait for the car to be home delivered, since I have scheduled to turn my e-golf lease on Friday. Still I don't want to make a payment without receiving the car. I'v heard nightmares where people made $70K payment and haven't seen the car for months. Home delivery is new to me, I have no idea how it works!

When I was there yesterday, the guy I was working with told me that they're transitioning to home delivery in part due to Ford making a big stink about them delivering cars on site in the area. Didn't want to prod any deeper into that, but the guy was clearly frustrated because all of the frustration from customers gets directed at them.

Finally just got word that my car made it to Dedham this morning. I had to reach out to delivery specialist that covers the entire north east because nobody at the actual delivery center will respond to me so shout out to Vanessa. Hoping she can push my car to get picked up this afternoon.

As for payment, I pre-paid my down payment (financing 80% of the car) because I just wanted to make this as easy as possible. I did see somebody paying with a personal check at the delivery center yesterday. As for personal checks for home delivery, I do not know if you can. Maybe they'd be more likely to accept a cashier's check.
