Hey everyone. Long time lurker here. Just need to rant a little about my experience and would like to know if anyone had anything similar happen.
3/15 - I submitted my order for a LR AWD M3. After placing my order, I didn't get any confirmation and my account said I had a reservation and would be invited to configure. Obviously something was up, so on Saturday 3/16 I emailed my sales advisor that had taken my wife and I on a test drive. He couldn't find the reservation anywhere in the system, so after some back and forth I sent a picture of my credit card invoice to prove it had been charged. In the midst of all of this my sales advisor sent me a link to purchase a model 3 that matched my exact config. The kicker was that it was already in town and he assured me that once my financing came through that it'd be ready for pick up. It was a no brainer, so I put down another $2500 to secure the car.
Monday - 3/17 I finalize my financing and pay my down payment. On Tuesday 3/18 my bank confirms that payment has been made and sends proof to forward to my delivery specialist. I received a call later that day from my DS and she tells me that they don't see payment on their end. She tells me that she'll call me on Wed 3/18 to confirm delivery details which is set for Wed 3/27.
Wed 3/18 - My account shows that payment is complete, so I wait for the call from my DS to confirm. Later that afternoon a work trip comes up so I'll no longer be able to pick up my car on the delivery date. I need to grab it earlier if possible because I'll be out of town for a week. I figured it wouldn't be an issue since my car is already in town. I email my DS at the end of the day since I hadn't received a call from her.
Monday 3/25 I still haven't heard anything from anyone regarding delivery so I decide to call my local service center to see if they have any info. The great rep I spoke to told me that my car was actually in Phoenix, in transit to Texas and wouldn't be here by Wednesday. She was super confused as to why my delivery date had been set for 3/27. She was even more confused as to why my sales advisor had told me my car was in town. She was actually pretty pissed about the "misinformation" and that my DS hadn't reached out to me.
So, I'm left with a bit of a sour taste in my mouth right now. Lying to a customer isn't cool. Tesla still hasn't refunded my original $2500. I know they will, but it just rubs it in a little that this whole process has been anything but easy and transparent. I'm a big Tesla fan and know that once I get the car I'll love it. Just kind of bummed. Anyone have similar issues?
