Diagnosing 2015 S

Hi All,

My higher mileage April 2015 Model S is having issues and I'd like to know what options I have to at least attempt to diagnose the problems myself. I understand where the FakraHSD and CAN Bus ports are and how to get to them. With the HSD I believe you need to access Tesla Toolbox software which is expensive at $333 a month. Any other options for that setup of hardware with a laptop? What about the CAN Bus port? What hardware is ideal to use with that and what diagnostic data will it show compared to the HSD with the Toolbox?

T-Diag and T-Can Pro are third party diagnostic tools. Expensive but people do let you hire them.

Thanks for the replies. I took it to Electrified Garage here in South Florida. They determined the AC compressor was bad and are sourcing a used replacement. I have separately ordered the OBDLinkMX+ and adapter cable to use with the ScanMyTesla tool on my Android.
