Did our Model Y save us from a serious broadside accident?

Went to cross a highway yesterday evening on a green light. Part way through the car started freaking out with warning sounds. I glanced right and slammed on the brakes as a car blew through the red light at highway speeds with zero attempt to slow down. Thinking back I wonder if our car slammed on the brakes a split second before I did. I don't know how the safety systems work in that situation with a car approaching from the right to a potential broadside. Could not get the license plate. Attached is the video. Scary stuff. Was not using FSD.

Wowww. Could’ve been a disaster. So glad you’re okay. It sounds like your car certainly saw the other car coming. Wouldn’t be surprised if it hit the brakes. Maybe buy a lottery ticket.
