Do we now have OTA updates?

I saw that 2024.8.8 was available via the app this morning. I've never connected the truck to wifi and don't have wifi in my garage, so I can only assume the update came in through the cellular connection? If so, that's pretty neat and what I expected for premium connectivity. I never got OTA updates on my other Teslas.

They can push updates over cellular. Depends on how important they feel the update is to get out vs their cost.

Did it actually download? Or is it just telling you it is available to download?

It downloaded on its own and I was able to install via the app. FWIW I went from 2024.2.100 to 2024.8.8

As a follow up, my next update did require me to connect to Wifi, so I guess only some will come OTA.

You'll get updates sooner and more frequently if you're connected via WiFi. Still, there is a randomness to updates that some arrive earlier than others or may even skip an update. It usually takes about 4 weeks for everyone (that are connected via WiFi) to get a specific update. Don't worry about the latest update. I've got some before most others, and at times it seems I've been the last to get one!
