Does deliveries in later May still have these issues?

Hi everyone,

First time Tesla buyer and this is my first post here.
Really need some help and advise.

I ordered by Model Y on 3/9/2020(Midnight Silver Metallic Paint, Black int. LR AWD), and just got a text message today(5/22/2020) to confirm delivery appointment and found the VIN in my account source code.

After seeing all the issues on this forum and reported by other MY owner elsewhere.
I am really hesitate if I should accept the delivery at this point.

Can any one received your Model Y in the past two weeks share if these reported issue are still showing on your newly delivery MY? I am wondering if Tesla have used the shut down to fix these issues before they resume the delivery.

Rear seat panels coming off
Rear seats don't go down when you use the buttons
Rattle from rear center seat
B pillar damaged
Steering wheel alignment off
Driver side window closed by itself before entry - trim damage
Window seal leaky
Dirt in paint
AC and heat don’t work at all
Charge port door not closing correctly
Charge port door stuck closed
Rear hatch doesn't close/latch properly
Flooded taillight with water/Condensation inside tail light

I really hope these issue are not as common as they seems are, can any one share some thought?

ordered same color but PUP one week after you. Hopefully I’ll be getting a VIN soon too.

Looking at this list. I am really worried

really hope they can fix most of them by now.

I really wish I can take my MY delivery ASAP, but what I definitely can’t stand is the rear seat rattling sound and panel comes off or the rear gate don’t close properly this type of issues on a 60k car. It’s really a lot of money for me no matter how I love Tesla.
 
I wouldn't focus too much on VIN at least in the perspective of a 6000 VIN vs a 2000 VIN and expecting the issues to be any different. We can hope that Tesla took some of the down time of the factory being closed to re-tool and fix assembly process for some of these issues, but just keep in perspective that this is still a brand new model which has only been in production for a couple of months at this point. I wouldn't expect and drastic QC changes to have happened between VIN 2000 and 6000. If you want to be sure you are getting a well worked on established vehicle, you may want to wait until next year.

That being said, I haven't seen a single example of one of these issues not being fixed by Tesla after delivery, and there is always the option to return within 7 days if you aren't satisfied.

I saw a lot of people complain that the rear seats don't align well either. Like if all the seats were in the upright position, the passenger side rear seat is a little more forward than the center and driver rear seats. I also saw this in the test drive car in the bay area.

So someone built a list of issues from some owners on the forum and now assume that all cars are coming off the line have the problems. You will never hear from the owners who had no reported issues and they probably outweigh the complainers 50-1.

Totally agree. Seeing many posts reporting flawless deliveries, it’s far more likely that the horror stories listed here are the exception, not the rule. We also have to remember that social network manipulation is still a thing. Besides short sellers, there are lots of powerful entities that are threatened by Tesla success.

I can agree an exception. My Model 3 LR paint was flawless. Bad luck for me with the Model Y.

Was the rear seat release button defective and seat panel coming off when you take the delivery? Or it was fine at the delivery and happen afterwards? My delivery date is with in 2 weeks, I hope I can spot the problem during pre-delivery inspection at tesla.

Wasn't folding and the seat panel coming off at delivery.
