Door handle sunken in

Anyone have a DIY method to fix this? My drivers door handle is sunken in like this:



I need to take it apart anyways to get a new wiring harness in, just wondering if this is something that's easily fixable?

I know the resting depth is adjustable but am afraid I am of no more help than that, it has been a couple years since a ranger pointed it out to me ~_^

I am sure this will get a proper answer before too long though with as many great people post on this forum.

You can reach it with the panel off, window rolled up, and cover off.
