Can the BMS_w176 (replace fuse) lead to BMS_w035 (vehicle may not restart) and "voltage supply too low" error?

Update: Tesla called. They found no internal isolation in the battery. Their diagnostic software was glitchy (my words, he used a different term). The HV battery is showing some issues (not defined) and will need to be replaced in the "near future", no date. For now, they will remove the HV...

Can the BMS_w176 (replace fuse) lead to BMS_w035 (vehicle may not restart) and "voltage supply too low" error?

First of all, thank you for the link. I knew companies started this, didn't have time to look into it yet. To answer your [rhetorical?] question -- if I were to keep the car for another 10 years, sure $15k makes sense. I've already been looking at new cars (either a 3, or maybe a different EV)...

Can the BMS_w176 (replace fuse) lead to BMS_w035 (vehicle may not restart) and "voltage supply too low" error?

Can't recall, had it replaced 2 or 3 times during the life of the car. So I'd guess at least 2 years. After I asked my question, Tesla responded.... "Hello, we are still working through diagnostics at this time and will reach out with a complete picture once diagnostics is completed. There are...

Can the BMS_w176 (replace fuse) lead to BMS_w035 (vehicle may not restart) and "voltage supply too low" error?

8.5 years old, 130k miles, I'm 6 months out of battery warranty. Also had my HV battery replaced for a "loaner" 2 years in (i.e. around 2017), I've had that loaner battery since then. Trying to see if they'll good will it and/or I can leverage the fact that I got a loaner 2 years in (i.e. do I...

Can the BMS_w176 (replace fuse) lead to BMS_w035 (vehicle may not restart) and "voltage supply too low" error?

I've had it replaced twice so far, and each time it'd throw a "replace 12V battery" message. Did they remove that error message via some software update? I haven't been on the forums in a while

Can the BMS_w176 (replace fuse) lead to BMS_w035 (vehicle may not restart) and "voltage supply too low" error?

I'm not a huge believer in coincidences... but I guess anything is possible. Just want to see if anyone else has this experience? 2015 70D About a week ago I get the fuse-replacement warning message, came to the service center, $300 and 1.5 hours later, got my fuse replaced. All good...

    Does Tesla perform courtesy inspection?

Weird question, I know... but it hasn't been sitting right with me since I left the service center. Dropped off the car to the emmc replaced due to the recall. Got the car back, it shows: It seemed... very uniform and wrong to me. I know my tires are fairly worn out. Door to the service...

Windshield, OEM or Aftermarket. Progressive Ins denied OEM.

That's odd. Had my windshield cracked a year ago, progressive paid for OEM. They originally ordered a non-OEM, the shop told me (Safelite), I said nope, called progressive, they said they'd pay for OEM -- no questions asked.

Not having regen after the last software update sucks

Alright, I'll give you another one - we have 2 Tesla's and 1 plug. So this scheduled departure would only work for 1 of our cars. Unless I: buy a 14-50 slitter or install another 14-50 plug (which likely means upgrading my whole panel from 200A to 400A), etc. Not worth the cost. That's...

Not having regen after the last software update sucks

Not really. What about those of us who don't have consistent work schedules? Or the dozens of other scenarios. I get that there is a workaround, and in the grand scheme of things it's not a catastrophic change, but no, it's not "a thing of the past".

    Dead battery heater

    Dead battery heater

I did a reboot, mine was persistent. And it was there a few days in a row before getting fixed. I am handy, but I already had it done since I wasn't sure what it was until I got to the Service Center. I'm surprised about the huge price fluctuations for the same defect.
  14. Max*

    Dead battery heater

lol (I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing at Tesla claiming this awesome 8 year warranty and then excluding nearly everything under the sun from being a warranty item except a dead battery and a dead drivetrain). And no, I asked.

New Battery warranty terms for new Model S

Why do they specifically call out the original 60kwh model? Seems like they should also include that all the other batteries had unlimited miles previously (or not include the comment about the original 60)?

    Sudden Unintended Acceleration

I've had something similar happen too, approaching a red light. Ended up half way into the crosswalk. Felt like the car accelerated before I slammed on the brakes. Scary AF. But no, it wasn't SUA. As I was approaching the red light, my car hit a pot hole with one wheel and the regen fully...

Do I just sue Tesla? New record for getting Powned

If the car is under warranty, this is probably true. Otherwise they're just hoping you don't fight back, I had to put up a stink to get my broken charger back that I paid for out of pocket.

    Onboard Charger Died

FYI - My non-working 40A charger sold for $150 + $100 shipping on ebay. I started at $500 OBO + shipping. It wasn't just a blown fuse though.

    Onboard Charger Died

Yeah, they tend to try to keep parts. Did the same thing to me until I brought up the local law requiring them to return my part, they had to get the service manager involved, but all ended well. If you stand firm, they'll back down (on this).

It's time for Tesla to provide MCU2 and HW3 upgrades

For free? For everyone? Call me impressed. Just googled. Seems like it's only a small group of people, and you can't request appointments for it, you're randomly chosen if you're in for service (or is there more to it?). I guess time will tell if they decide that's enough good PR and stop...

It's time for Tesla to provide MCU2 and HW3 upgrades

Has Tesla (not EM on Twitter) explicitly said they'll upgrade the FSD hardware? Unfortunately, due to the way Tesla does business, I don't see them providing FSD retrofits.

    energy gauge popped in.....

While what you're saying is factually correct -- @faughtz is correct too, this is due to a recent firmware upgrade. His battery wasn't full, see below. And it was relatively warm. This was due to a recent change in the firmware with Tesla increasing the temperature at which regen kicks in...

I am posting this in every youtube Tesla topic I come across: Range loss, charge gate etc

I have no trust in Tesla anymore. But for those of you who think that by creating YouTube videos or trying to get this out to reporters that anyone will care -- are most likely wrong. Power steering issue

    In praise of slower supercharging

I agree with the general sentiment: I'm not buying another Tesla with the expectations to use it for long distance travel. The supercharging stations build-out has been slower than the increased demand from the Model X and Model 3 - there are lines (not even at peak travel times) up and down...

Choose my Tesla: Comparing True Cost of Ownership

Don't buy a car in hopes of vaporware. It's unlikely that true FSD will come out anytime soon. If you're willing to pay extra for the added features of the "FSD", that's different. Also, having both an S and a 3, I wouldn't get an S again. It's been the most unreliable car I've owned, and I get...

Wildly inaccurate range on long trips

70D. Dual Motor. Same car as the OP. Can I get rated range all 4 seasons? No. Can I get rated range driving in the city? No. But, on the highway, with proper weather, and even with speeding, yes, it's possible - in attainable and realistic driving conditions. I can't compare the 70D to the 90D...

Wildly inaccurate range on long trips

Again, this isn't true. You can get 240 miles on a charge in attainable and realistic driving conditions. But those conditions are rare. If it gets hotter/colder, you lose range. If it rains, you lose range. If you don't preheat the battery, you lose range. If you speed, you lose range. etc...

Wildly inaccurate range on long trips

As mentioned, it's EPA range. Also, in winter your range will be a lot less than in the summer. Instead of looking at that, you can view the range in "trips" and that's very accurate as you've noticed. All of those (minus the climate control) won't do much. The usage is minuscule. Yes, it can...

Not having regen after the last software update sucks

I think that'd definitely part of it, and it could potentially be all of it. If the new threshold is 65F, it would also take longer to reach that threshold while driving to work (a few people here commented the regen never comes back during their commute, I'm in the same boat).
