Driver leaves and Passenger stays in car?

Ok, had my Model Y for two weeks. When a driver leaves the car and the passenger stays in the car. As soon as they close the door the HVAC and screen turn off. How do you stop this? The car knows there is someone in each seat. See that on the Seat Belt dialog window. The airbag light goes off when there is a passenger in the seat.

How can a passenger keep the HVAC and screen working?

Only solution I have found is to open the passenger door. Stupid.

Same question over and over in the forums now.

You are all giving ok advice but ready for the best way...........

The passenger just has to touch the screen after you get out and it will come back on. Seriously that's all.

The reason the car has to wait for an input is because if you have a backpack or something on the seat you'd be walking away and your car wouldn't lock.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. Got it. Of course, the car has sensors and cameras to monitor the seats. It couldn't just figure out there is someone in the car? Tesla talks about how smart the car is.

Did the Door ajar thing. Will try the touch screen option next.

The seats just have weight sensors like every other car with airbags. Supposedly they are working on putting a radar sensor in the car to detect children left inside.
