Our state (MD) stopped renewing the HOV stickers because of too many EVs. Keep that in mind as you put on the stickers. There's always the chance it will not renew and you are stuck having them on.

which is why you don't apply them directly to the car's paint.
cut a PPF patch, put the sticker on the PPF, then put the PPF patch on the car.
when the sticker expires, just peel off the PPF.

I purchased a metal attachment to my license plate that held it up without touching the paint. Not as extensive as CA (1 vs 4 stickers).

We have never applied the stickers to our M3 (in the glove box). We have never been stopped when in Car Pool lane or toll booths.

Wow... is that guy wrong!!!! fight it. Carpool sticker does NOT work for fastrak... He's got it backwards.

What sucks is the time you are going to waste.

You need to provide more context - what freeway? There are definitely freeways that require fastrak transponder/ registration regardless of hov sticker (which I think happened, not the other way around)

I was in a carpool lane getting onto the freeway I-580 (non fastrak). I was by myself and I also have the CAV fastrak transponder. I showed the cop my CAV registration and he said it didnt matter because it the decals only work in fastrak. I emailed the clean air board and they told me that I’m allowed to use the carpool lanes by myself. Now im debating if I should even drive in the carpool lane going going forward. Hate dealing with this type of crap.

Clearly the quality of cops in the Bay Area has plummeted.
Quite a hassle, but a trial by written declaration should put this matter to rest

Decals are for HOV lanes not Fastrak.
