Dual Motor badge?

My service center is telling me Dual Motor badges are not available in our area at this time.

Has anyone heard of this?

I have seen a few cars in down with DM badges.

Mine never had one @ delivery and I forgot to ask.... they are installed @ delivery and not at the factory?

Mine was installed before I took delivery. I did request it prior, so not sure if it was installed at the factory or at my Service Center.

Yes mine was installed by mobile service about a week after delivery. They seem to get them in stock in batches so keep checking with the SC.

Got to have a badge otherwise how would anyone know how much you spent on your car? Mine will come off first thing. One of the aspects that I really appreciated about the Model 3 was the lack of useless badging.

I didn't wait for the SC to call me. I just requested a home service for the badge through the Tesla app and they confirmed an appointment.

I suppose I do want it known the car is Dual Motor --- @Kilotango74 hearing it out loud does make me think about it a little differently though, hadn't really thought of it the way you replied. Makes having the badge seem a bit silly...

No offense, everyone looks at their own car a little bit different. I prefer a clean look is all. Badges make me think of the '80's where the silliest things had badges...."fuel injection", "automatic", "turbo", LOL

This is part of my point here --- it shouldn't be an issue, this problem shouldn't even exist.

Is it an issue? As far as I can tell all recent deliveries have been with badge and if applicable spoiler installed. They are fixing the problem, relax. You should know the deal with Tesla by now.

for some people it is really important that other people know i.e. that it is a BMW 320 and not a BMW 316. or that they have AWD and performance upgrade etc. Saying that, Tesla is quite subtle already about stuff like that now anyway.

That’s pretty petty and shallow in my opinion.

Suppose you could also look at it this way too -- if you spent more on your car you might have more high tech goodies stashed inside to steal instead of someone who bought a SR version.

Belongings in your car like laptops, tablets—tourists’ cars targeted too for luggage, cameras, etc. Guess you haven’t been reading those threads yet (do yourself a favor and read them to know what’s been going on). Big issue for drivers not only Teslas here in SF bay area but understand southern Calif has its issues as well. One of the reasons Tesla released TeslaCam and Sentry Mode.
