EV Advocates of Ventura County Meeting Jul 16 2019 in Ojai

This site may earn commission on affiliate links.
The regular monthly meeting of the EV Advocates of Ventura County will still happen on July 16th [date corrected by moderator] at 6:30 pm.

However the meeting location has changed for this one time only.

We will be meeting at the new Tesla Supercharger location in Ojai, 987 West Ojai Ave. the location of Boku Superfoods. There are picnic tables on the porch where we will meet but with limited seating. If you have a folding chair or two consider bringing them.

Foodwise, we will be doing a potluck. Bring something to share and your own eating hardware. I think there is a no plastic/single use policy for the EV Advocates, or there should be… Reno Rolle, our host at Boku has indicated that the store will be open and he can provide some beverages.

It is anticipated that the Superchargers will be on line Tuesday afternoon, but we have no guarantee. There are also two level 2 ClipperCreek chargers about a ½ block away at Topa Winery, but you might want to give them some patronage.

See you at the sorta ribbon cutting. Our meeting will be brief and we are limiting the discussion items so we can spend more time interacting with each other, the site and our host.

since the chargers will not be active for the meeting. Thought everyone should know Topa winery is closed on Tuesdays. So that would not be an option for charging. There is 5 destination chargers at the Ojai Valley Inn also. they are reserved for customers and not always available. The only other option is 2 chargepoints at the park and ride in town.

From Kent Bullard:
Hello All,

Thank you for attending the Superchargers opening and Electric Vehicle gathering in Ojai on Tuesday evening. The event came together in just a few short days and it showed how our EV community joins to take action. We hope you had a good time, met new folks and will continue to spread the word about EV’s. The story of re-purposing a former Ford dealership into Ojai’s Sustainable Transportation Center is one worth repeating.

We all want to thank our hosts Lynn and Reno Rolle of Boku Superfood https://bokusuperfood.com for hosting our event, hosting the Tesla Supercharger facility and for their effort to expand other charging opportunities at that location. To help facilitate action with Electrify America it would help if each one of you were to send in a submission to Electrify America and strongly suggest installing level 3 DC fast charging and Level 2 AC charging equipment at Boku Superfood, 987 W. Ojai Ave. Ojai CA 93023.

Also, our thanks go out to the Ojai City Mayor pro-tem Suza Francina and the city staff who helped to make this happen. I am sure Mayor Johnny Johnston will be bringing the family car by to get a charge once he returns.

Those of you who attended and are not members of the EV Advocates of Ventura County are all invited to join our group. We meet monthly to socialize and discuss current EV events and opportunities to make change. If you are on Facebook, go to Log into Facebook | Facebook and request to join, otherwise respond to this email with your contact information and the vehicle you now have and we will include you in our future mailings and event notices.

Thanks,

--
