Excellent Delivery Experience at Tesla Springfield, NJ

Took delivery of our new Model 3 Performance on Monday at Tesla, Springfield and there were a few minor issues with the car (some minor paint issues and some panel alignment issues). The delivery team noted them all and I took delivery and they promised to get me in to get them rectified as quickly as possible. I brought the car back yesterday and they realigned the hood, which now looks pretty good and they fixed the minor paint issue very well (only required some light wet sanding and polishing).

This is one of the best cars I have driven.

I am in part writing this to let people know that minor paint issues can be rectified reasonably easily usually as I have heard stories of people rejecting delivery for small issues like this, or even in one instance a misaligned hood.

May I ask how far in advance of the delivery date did you get the VIN? I’m scheduled for this coming Friday in Paramus and haven’t gotten anything from Tesla.

Hooray for a positive note on delivery. I think these SC do a great job 99% of the time. It is just human nature to hear about the 1% 99% of the time.

May I ask how far in advance of the delivery date did you get the VIN? I’m scheduled for this coming Friday in Paramus and haven’t gotten anything from Tesla.

I had my VIN about 4 weeks before delivery directly by email from my IDA and then in my account about 10 days before delivery.

As for VIN, I know one has been assigned to me (as per Tesla's call center) but no one has allowed me to see it yet. I'm 10 days out.

I told my IDA I needed it to secure insurance for delivery and I got it back immediately.

I'm 4 days out from scheduled delivery and still no VIN. What up with them? I called and they told me i'd have it 72 hrs before delivery. not much time to finish financing and get the insurance.

Nope I would agree, but par for the course with Tesla. When I bought my S they even gave me someone else’s paperwork at delivery and had a bunch of mistakes in my paperwork.
