I had it on for more than two years already. It doesn't interfere with operation and never got around to installing my aftermarket one.

I have Spigen on my phone which proved to be excellent when I dropped it.
Yet curiously, although I bought most of the useful accessories/ after market bits and bobs, ( and some that weren't, so useful) I have not bought a screen protector - so far so good.

What is left on from rhe factory wont protect against impact, price is right, but it does not protect

Just a new peel off with no impact protection
Tempered obviously has impact protection

I've read posts where Tesla service has blamed screen warping issues on screen protectors... is that a concern?

The factory film isn’t really doing much protection and it makes it harder to use the screen because it’s more grippy than glass.

Never heard that unless possible using a cheap piece of material that affects the touch
Stick with the brands we have on our phones

Just a peel off but I find it does not show finger prints nor affect the touch performance.

No, it's just a film. As others mentioned, it provides fingerprint protection and sacrificial microscratch protection (which is why it's on in the first place). It's like the very early poly based screen protectors before tempered glass became popular.

Just ordered the Spigen matte screen protector from AMZ. Sick of seeing the fingerprints.

So we really need Spigen type protectors? I have had cars for 15 years with some sort of touch screen and when I sold they all were still in pretty good shape. Yes, only recently, have touch screens become more of an everyday function of the car.
Not starting argument, just want to see where everyone is on the protector vs non.

Old school screens were not touched as frequently or the size of rhe Tesla screen, it’s the only display
So yes, protect, cost is minimal
But to each their own

I ordered the screen protector just to reduce glare and fingerprints. Protection from damage is just a bonus.

I've had my Model 3 for 2.5 years and haven't had any real screen concerns.
