Fan Noise

Now that I've started to go back to the office, I'm finally getting to drive my car some more. One thing I've noticed is that when i wake my car up from Sleep (or the car has been in the parking lot all day) as soon as it starts to "boot up", the fans or something that sounds like a fan kicks on. It almost sounds like a buzzing noise more so than a wind noise that a fan makes. Like a fan is out of whack. It's really loud. I'm not sure if this is normal? Anyone else hear something like this?

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one then. Was debating on a service call but wanted to see if it was normal

I think it's normal. If I exited the car with the AC on, it will turn on again when it's unlocked. And the fan is very noticeable.I would not consider it 'really' loud though.

I just got my M3 and the fan is very loud, sounds just like what you describe, buzzing like the blades are hitting something

For some reason I haven’t heard that loud buzz saw sound in quite a while. Not sure if it changes over time, or varies based on temperature or something else?

I get the loud buzzing for the first few minutes I get in the car when it's hot outside. I've called my local service center and they said it was my compressor spooling up for the first few minutes. It does seem really loud especially because there's no noise of an engine to drown it out.
