I spent a fair amount of time looking at various plug kits on amazon and came to the conclusion that all of them are knock offs of the original Safety Seal kit (Tire Plug Kits, Fix Flat Tire, Tire Repair Tools | Safety Seal) which is extremely high quality and made in USA (like our Teslas!). Apparently, Safety Seal supplies the US Military with plug kits... good enough for them, good enough for me.
I ended up purchasing this kit off Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DIECCK/) for ~$50. While it is at least double the price of unknown brands, it seems to be worth the premium given the 50+ year history of Safety Seal, higher quality, and supporting domestic manufacturing. There are even folks who have used this to repair a sidewall blowout so they could limp off the highway.
Anyway, I am very happy with mine and it fits nicely in the trunk storage area. Thankfully, I haven't had to use it yet.
