Well, if you really want to be precise: The order on the stalk is R - N - nothing - N - D, with the button being P. To replicate this on screen wouldn't make much sense. Instead, they show the usual PRND that everyone is used to. Seems to make sense.

EDIT: Even worse, with autopilot and FSD: R - N - nothing - N - D - Autopilot - FSD :)
 
I can't speak for the stalk, but PRND(L) is a standard in the auto industry.


They were probably following that convention.
I'm old enough to have driven cars that had the order "PNDLR" from before that standard existed.
Taught my brother how to drive in a car with a three-on-the-tree. I don't know how many times he broke that shift linkage being too ham-fisted with it.
