Gen 3 wall connector wand/cable on gen 2 body?

I am stumped.
The gen 2 wall connector wand/cable has two small single wires, but the gen 3 has 4. Anyone knows what they are used for and which two on the gen 3 are equivalent to the 2 on the gen 2?
Can a gen 3 wand be used used with the gen 2 body?
The first picture is of a gen 2 showing two small wires on the right. The second picture is of gen 3 showing 4 wires plugged to the board.

After testing a bit, the purple and blue wires of the two devices are equivalent. So, the gen3 cable worked on gen2 device using only the purple and blue cable.

So, no trouble putting a gen 3 cable onto a gen 2 wall connector?
They used to sell the cable separately; I purchased one but no more.
Might be worth buying the gen 3 cable and adapt it to the gen 2.

I think only concern would be if you’re trying to charge at >48A since the gen3 units don’t support that
