Got a call for delivery

I got a call from a delivery specialist at Tesla today. He asked me "If you got a VIN tomorrow would you be prepared to take delivery". From talking to them it sounds like Tesla is preparing to reopen the factory as my car most certainly has not been built. Will see tomorrow if a VIN is indeed assigned. My build is a MSM/White Long Range AWD.

Anyone else gotten a call?

Great! What are your specs?

Ahhh same exact specs! I got two phonecalls from them today but everytime I picked up it sounds dead on the other end, so I called the number back (from NV) and got the delivery specialist's voicemail saying to email her instead but I can't quite make out her name!! #killingme

I've been at the "enter insurance info" stage since right before the COVID craziness.

PS - Ordered in October as well.

Last time I talked to my delivery center they said white interiors would be the first off the line once the factory re-opened. They could just be saying that though.

I have a white/white on order and they’ve contacted me twice during the shutdown to verify my plans, so there may be some truth to that. I told them I don't want the car till August and they said they’ll match me to something around that time.

My spouse got a text yesterday asking him to fill out the online form, specify "cash" for now knowing that it can be changed later, and wait for a VIN. Blue exterior/black interior, 5 seat, 19" wheels, AWD, long range, no FSD. Just ordered in January.

EDIT: This is not yet for delivery, just prepping, but presumably close to getting a VIN?

I'm also waiting on my white on white AWD FSD, I hope you guys are right!! My account changed allowing me to enter all my insurance/payment info just before the pandemic closures. Seems it is still not clear when Fremont plant will open but I'm definitely hoping those of us patiently waiting on the white interiors will be rewarded soon!

I've been waiting for a VIN for several weeks now. Confirmed with my financing we will reassess once a car gets assigned but I've been holding at the insurance screen for many weeks now. I checked with my local delivery center and they have no cars. I'm assuming these cars that are coming up are ones that were from cancelled orders or were repaired after being rejected at delivery. I've been waiting a long time for my car since it was ordered on March 17, 2019. I have to say it is a bit frustrating seeing orders that were placed a few months ago getting filled. Tesla's process for manufacturing and delivering cars leaves a lot to be desired. From what I understand, it all depends on what you ordered and when Tesla gets around to building that configuration. I've not see a lot of AWD, 19s & FSD being delivered. I ordered a blue one but told my non-responsive Tesla rep I would be open to other colors and wheels. So far nothing as I think since shut down of the factory all the processes have halted. I'm hoping that once production starts up again I might actually get my car.

Ordered in late January for a performance model. Changed to AWD at the end of Feb (I can't justify $8k more for just an improved 0-60 time).

Still no details leaking about when the Fremont factory will open. If they start production next week the first cars will be rolling off the line 5-7 days later.

I think there is a priority based on order date within a production run. I don't know how Tesla decides the ordering for configurations other than the obvious: higher price first (performance before AWD), and complexity (all black 5-seat interior first, dual-motor before RWD, etc). Hopefully you get the call soon.

I hope so. Hoping Blue/Black AWD, 19s, FSD is on the near the top of the list for the start up. I don't think I want one of the first cars coming down the line immediately after they get restarted. I would rather wait a week or so. I'm hoping the paint is better since there were rumors they upgraded the paint shop while they were down. BTW, I see hjelmn you are in New Mexico. Where are you taking delivery there since there is no center in NM right now? I'm asking as I'll be retiring there in a few years. Interested in how you deal with owning a Tesla in a place that doesn't have delivery/service centers.
