And now we have SC#2 open as well! I posted the highlights at the Investor thread, but here are the details:
  • SC #1 was opened last week on the M1 highway next to an OMV petrol station at Gyor (Győr), a big industrial city (by local standards...) halfway between Vienna and Budapest. This enables travel from the Hungarian capital towards Austria and the rest of Western-Europe on the West and Slovakia to Poland on the North. We have 4 stalls open and likely 12 or 16 more coming online next year.
  • SC#2 was opened yesterday with 4 stalls operational on the M7 highway (well, a 2km detour) in the town of Sormas (Sormás) just outside the city of Nagykanizsa. M7 is also a very important route as it connects Budapest with Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy and goes along lake Balaton, a major tourist destination. The SC is located at the parking lot of Istvan Parkhotel & Restaurant (they say it's a decent place, the menu at the restaurant sounds appetizing for sure) and it's a 124 km drive to the next SC in Zagreb on the south and 220 km to Budapest on the North.
  • The (road) distance between SC#1 and #2 using the M1 and M7 highways is 308 km (2 hrs 45 min) via Budapest, using the M0 highway connecting M1 and M7. This could be a close call with the short range Model 3 at 130 km/h highway speeds, but is also 20 minutes longer than the shortest route. If you don't mind scenic routes, you can do it via the North to South country roads in 195 km (2hrs 25 min).
