Has anyone paid for home delivery?

I've ordered a Model 3 Performance. Just received a VIN today. I chose home delivery since i am located over 200 miles from the nearest SC. Talking to Delivery coordinator today- she said it will cost $2500 to have Tesla deliver the car to my home. Has anyone else had to pay for home delivery???? My X was delivered last March free of charge. Granted that vehicle cost twice what this car costs. But this is the first time in all my reading I've heard Tesla trying to charge for home delivery (maybe I have not reviewed enough posts).

Anyone have any thoughts/input on this?

Agreed. My return email to the delivery specialist pointed this out. If they hold to this pricing, it will force me to make a hard choice with my relationship with Tesla. And I don't mean that angrily... I've been an owner before and sold my X because of horrendous service issues with Tesla. But that was with an X and I was hoping to tamp down expectations with this Model 3.

So the delivery "specialist" cleared up the home delivery charge...as in there is none. One more instance of a Tesla employee being entirely clueless about their company policies. I hate to be so critical...but this is such a Mickey Mouse operation, and yet their vehicles are so compelling. As a business owner it's painful to watch as I know the window of dominance in any industry is short lived at best (Tesla has enjoyed a much longer than normal cycle out in front) and watching their customer "service" fumble away the goodwill the cars offer is so excruciating. The gap is narrowing in the EV market, major competitors are coming, and while Tesla still has a major lead in many categories, it's their inconsistent customer service that may even the playing field.

I spent 10 min with the delivery person. It wasn't until the very end I found out they are driving the car to my house instead of picking up at the delivery center. Totally bizarre.

I’m pretty sure they bring it via trailer. The guy who brought my Model X had a very cool trailer that perfectly fit the Model x.

Yeah I live within 30 miles of factory. I guess they can just get someone to drive it over and Uber back
