Has anyone tried retrofitting glovebox USB in 2020 models?

My 2020 MY only has the USB-C for the charging pad and USB-A for the sentry stick. I want to move the sentry stick behind the glovebox. I took off the cover to look at the MCU and it does have the USB (proprietary) plug on it. Has anyone tried buying the harness and plugging into it on these older models? Does that disable the USB-A in the center console? Does it work?

My reasoning is to free up space in the center console, also from research it seems like the dreaded USB I/O error when car goes into deep sleep only affects the center console USB and not the grove box USB.
