I saw a red 3 on the road today and it looked a lot more "maroonish" than the red I see everywhere else online. Is it possible it was an older 3 that had another version of red?
It changes with every photograph & every different lighting condition you see it under.
PS There was a Signature Red many years ago, but it'd need to be a 3rd party apply that aftermarket on a Model 3 as the only vehicles that had it factory were very low VIN Model S.
As a red Model 3 owner, I don't see it as a maroonish color... That would be more towards purple-ish if you ask me. It might be wrapped or repainted to another color.
The red OEM paint hasn't changed since there was never a red paint chip repair kit update. The one you saw could have had different lighting or be wrapped in a maroonish red.
I have found that my red M3 looks a bit “brighter” when it is freshly washed. Perhaps people with newer Tesla’s tend to watch them more? Personally, I have opti-coat pro and was nearly every week.
