HELP! How to get rim to sit flat on hub?

Hi Everyone!

I'm trying to swap my 19" wheels on a 2015 P85DL to 21" Arachnids that I just bought. For some reason I can't get the Arachnids to sit flat on the hub. Thinking it might be a problem with the wheel, I tried to put the original back on but am having the same problem :S Is there a trick to this that I'm not aware of? I've changed wheels on my BMWs many times in the past and never had a problem.

My car's jacked up and I'm stuck -- eek!

I've changed the wheels a few times and never had the problem. You probably need to lift the car higher on the jack because the tires are wide.

Sadly I lifted it more and it didn’t help. I tried turning the hub to install it in all five stud configurations and that didn’t help either. Stressing me out

Start one of the nuts then reposition the wheel, probably need to lift up

I have removed mine and if it's not just right it wont line up

I don’t think I can rely on the lug nuts to pull it in flush? In the past I’ve always seated the wheel flush on the plate before installing lugs

Just start one but dont go too far. If they came off they will go back on. After you get the first lug nut on the others will go on fine and yes it will close the gap

You, good sir, are a genius! Starting loose with one lug but and then repositioning made it easy! You saved me! I think it’s easier to line up on the BMW because they use lug bolts instead of lug nuts. Thanks so much!!!

Have you cleaned the flange with a steel brush? Also look at the centering ring to make sure it is seated properly. Not every wheel has a ring though. Also, clean the conical surface on the ring or wheel.
