My left trunk latch is stuck closed. When I press either the remote button or use my key, only the right latch releases. I had this problem once before, but it came open and I lubricated the mechanism with a lock-specific lubricant. However, this time it is really stuck. I can look through the crack while using a flashlight and see the mechanism fairly well. I've tried spraying lube directly on the mechanism. I've tried reaching in with a wire rod and pushing and pulling on it.
My next idea is to lift the car up, possibly remove the rear wheel, and see if I can remove the fender liner and access the lock better. I don't have a jack for the car, though I could go buy one or take it to a garage. Any ideas? Thanks!
