High speed crash in Germany

Impressive real world crash test. I'm sure dad will replace with another tesla, and perhaps leave it in valet mode whenever he gets out.
Back to the crash testing though, I have always found it interesting that cars like the Porsche 911 aren't tested by Euro NCAP or the US NHTSA. They are tested by Porsche but the company only has to certify that they comply with minimum requirements. It is interesting that Tesla submitted the Model S for testing in 2014, a year when it sold 33000 cars. By comparison, Porsche sold 32000 911 cars in 2015. Sooo, the low volume argument against testing doesn't really wash. In their defence, Porsche has submitted the Macan for testing and it did very well. However to say Porsche doesn't have the resources to submit the 911 for testing, would be perhaps a bit ludicrous
