Home Delivery wrt phone app

Great. I enabled mobile access last Wednesday when the car was home delivered. Sunday my Tesla account when from reservation number to vin and delivered. Monday morning I was able to linkup the phone and it became a car key. Woohoo.

In hindsight, if I had sent a picture of the VIN on the front window to the home delivery Tesla specialist in Las Vegas to confirm delivery, I think the process would have been faster.

I finally understood the part about seeing your reservation number vs. VIN in your tesla account because I have a thick-head. So it looks like once it switches to an actual VIN, the App will work? (mine still shows the RN#, and app is still no-worky) bkmartin, can you confirm?

Yes, my tesla.com page now shows the VIN and different screens to schedule service, etc --- completely different then the "your model 3 is being delivered" screen.

Yup, making sense. I see both the reservation number and VIN number now, yet it still doesn't work. Called Tech support, Lisa sounded just a little surprised it's been a whole week for me, and sent my delivery specialist a note. Could be another week for me now (not mad... yet). Seems to me this could be explained and managed a little better.

In my case, there is no gear icon just a blank black screen where the car should be. Prior to the blank screen, there is the video screen with the loot box. In any case, I uninstalled, re-logged in, same behavior. I think I just need to wait for it to be properly setup on the Tesla side.

blank glowy screen. Me too. What does your Tesla account show as your status? Mine still shows an estimated delivery, but I picked up the car on Sunday.

@ceekz At the time I was getting the blank glowing screen, my car still was showing the schedule delivery status on tesla.com. The other night, my delivery was completed in the Tesla backend systems, my app became enabled, I received a "Tesla guide to ownership' email, and my tesla.com portal now shows information about the car and how to schedule service.

Thanks, that seems to be my issue. How long was it after you took delivery that the system updated your status? I'm well into Day 2 of ownership.

Been a full week now since delivery (which was its own horror story), and app still blank. Website still shows they’re drawing up the contract. Phone calls every couple days get me told to call back in a couple days, at least when I get a person instead of a full voicemail box.

I love the car itself, but ffs Tesla, get it together.

It took seven days for my car to appear in the app. I should note that it simply showed up without any special activity by me. I didn't delete the app then re-download and log in again. One minute it wasn't there, then the next minute it was. I called customer support on day four. They told me that it can take "up to five days".

I also opted for the home delivery and like everyone here, it took a while for the app to connect with the car. I noticed that my account status should prepare for delivery even though the car was delivered. One Tesla updated my account to reflect that the car was delivered, the app started to work. My case took about one week.

Just be patient, it will work....

I had the same issue after home delivery of my Tesla. I talked to the service department at the service center who prepped the car and also the mobile service representative who said he would send a message to the person to take care of it. After 4 days without access, I called the main Tesla number and they connected me to someone in sales at the location that prepped the car. He took down my information and said he would have the delivery people get it fixed. 15 minutes later, I have access. Bottom line if this happens to you, try contacting someone in sales or delivery at the location that prepped the car for a faster fix.
