How Long before you received your VIN?

Hey everyone! I have sold my M3P and ordered a MYP white on white and was curious how long it typically takes to see your VIN?

I placed the order on 7/23 and competed all of my paperwork via online, but still no VIN.

All it says is :
Estimated delivery: -

We will reach out to you to schedule your delivery date. Delivery time frame will be based on reservation date, order date, delivery location and vehicle configuration.

I received my VIN the day of delivery a few hours before I went to pick it up. Some receive it days or weeks in advance. I don't think there's any set time period.

I ordered on 05/03/20 and got my VIN on 07/31/2020. Take delivery this Sunday 08/09/20..... Took me almost 3 months to get a VIN. White/White/PUP

Look in your account at the Documents.. if they added the MVPA, it should be listed on there.

I ordered on 7/27, got VIN yesterday.

Checked the documents I just have the order agreement, no VIN listed.
I just remember my M3 order procedure being much more efficient.

I’ve emailed the local dealership, and they don’t have any more information than what I see.

Yes, I have. I attached a pdf of my current insurance policy with my M3P Details. Also, I obtained financing through Tesla and accepted my terms. Here is what the website says for the next steps.
"We are drafting up your contract and will contact you when you can make your final payment.

Who must be present at delivery?
All persons listed on the registration must be present to sign at delivery. If you are trading in a vehicle, all registered owners must be present.

What do I need to bring with me to delivery?

• Your driver's license (for all registrants)
• Copy of your current auto insurance (or proof of Tesla policy, if required)
• Final payment (if you are picking up your vehicle in a Tesla sales licensed state)
• Title of your trade-in vehicle. If you are currently making payments and your vehicle is registered in a state other than KY, NY, TN, MT, MD, MI, MO, MN, or OK, bring your vehicle registration instead."

I had a service rep send me a VIN and a pdf Monroney sticker for my yet to be built car, but it doesn't show up on my account page at all, wither in an MVPA or source code. Is that odd?

I submitted my docs etc on 7/20 and got a VIN text message and a call two days ago on 8/4.

I still have the same language about the contract. I have delivery already scheduled.

Ok good to know, sounds like I need to rely more on a phone call / Text rather than depending on the website to update on time.

I placed my order for a MSM/Black and White/PUP/Tow Hitch on 7/31 and am in the exact same stage as you. All steps complete and my order page says the same thing. Just hanging out here in VIN and delivery limbo!

" We currently expect your Model Y to be ready for delivery 3-6 weeks from today. Once your Model Y starts moving to your delivery center, we will reach out to schedule your delivery appointment.

Please note that this timeframe is an estimate and may shift in either direction.

Thanks Steve! I ordered on 7/11 and have been waiting on a VIN notification and just found it under the MVPA docs! Now I can shop insurance rates!

I'm in New Jersey and the Tesla site states to upload a PDF of the insurance policy that must include the Tesla VIN. Well, I don't have a VIN yet lol. Worried that this might hold up progress of the build but hopefully that's not the case. LR, RMC paint, B/W interior, Induction wheels.

No, it is added before delivery once you get your VIN and can submit it to your insurance co.

Cool, thanks. Can't wait! Related question: does the Vin Finder chrome extension still work? I ask because i was assigned a VIN before the price reduction which of course went away once I modified my build; however, the VIN Finder chrome extension stated "No VIN found" even though the VIN was clearly listed on the page.

Sold my M3 yesterday and called the Tesla dealer asking for an update on MY Performance and she said that I have a VIN assigned and an expected delivery ETA of the 29th!

Should my VIN show up in my Tesla acct as well?
