Agree, I also live in T.O. and my SCE bill went down about $50 but I changed the pool equipment to run during the TOU period. That won't work in the summer but for now it's additional savings.

I leave the pump for our pool on Super Off Peak. If we plan to use the pool during peak hours, I just turn it on then, and off when done swimming.

Still cheaper than moving the pump back to Peak hours in the summer

In my case my pool is heated by solar panels so the only way I get heat is if it's on when the sun is out otherwise I'd do it your way.
