how to add profile picture and contact administrator?

wanted to add a photo of my roadster to my profile but not sure how...looks like administrator needs to edit a setting for this to be possible? And how do you contact the administrator of this site?

Same issue. It would be nice if there was a concise "Welcome to the community" post that you are taken to when you join that would explain all of this (being able to add a profile picture or liking someone else's post.) It is not obvious that you need to make some (indeterminate) number of post before these features become available.

I must be missing something. Help me out. I see no welcome message at the top of the page. I have searched the forum for "welcome" and I do not find it.

Sorry for being vague. The reason you no longer see the message is because you already have those permissions.
Here's what the message says:

Welcome to TMC! Since you currently have few or no posts in the forum, you have somewhat limited profile privileges. You'll be able to do things like add a profile image after you've participated in the community a bit more. Please review the Forum Rules and happy posting!​

There still remains black edging. Isn't there a magic photo size that will fill the allowed avatar space? 2816x2112 @96dpi is not big enough? And what means 'drag to crop'??

Now I see another thread says the magic number appears to be between 5 and 15. Lol. I'll try a few more and give up for tonight. But is there any reason this can't be concretely documented somewhere?

so... based upon this thread- i’m making my first of whatever magical number is required to post an avatar picture of my new model s (which i picked up early this morning)
