How to remove trunk trim to access the ECU?

I just did it and it really was not difficult. I had 16.3 waiting and installed it afterwards. I hope the pictures attached helps.

I did this upgrade this morning. The hardest part was disassembling and reassembling the interior. Be careful with clips and the smaller electric wiring connector for the seat release.

After I used service mode to reinstall the software. No problems.

Tested on 120 volt charging, ChargePoint L2 and ChargePoint CSS. All working fine.

I did not disconnect any batteries. As others noted, the service manual does not require this.
 
I’ve successfully used CCS chargers a bunch of times in the past week. Allowed me to go places in NM and CO I couldn’t have.

I’m very glad companies are adopting Tesla’s NACS in the future. CCS cables are heavy and unwieldy. I can’t imagine a little old lady managing these awful things.
