ID3 starting at 35,500 EUR, not 30k as promised?

I hope it's not true... the ID.3 is the most promising non-Tesla EV. Inside EVs reports that the "basic" version starts at 35,574 EUR in Germany. VW told the press in Sept '19 that the starting price would be "under 30k EUR". Inside EVs doesn't seem to have any idea what they're reporting (typical low quality article from them) so maybe are they mistaking a mid-range trim for the base trim?

Just found this, they haven't abandoned the 30k price point. Hell of a deal for a hatchback with similar specs as the M3 at 44k and MY at 60k.

The ID.3 Pure for less than 30,000 Euro should “also be available for order in a few months”.

Remember the $35,000.00 Model 3 that was heavily advertised several years prior to production? Never really sold this and one has to "call" the on-line company for such details. I see no difference between VW and Tesla.

That's not the "base" version though but the 58kWh / 424km WLTP mid version.
The base version (ID3 Pure, 45kWh /330km WLTP) for sub 30k€ will come later.

No, ID.3 starts with faulty software, and your car would have sat a year on open parking lots. The latest statement blames the suppliers for programming failures and they also fired the chief software guy. A great sequel to Dieselgate 4 sure.

The problem with WV as with many other legacy companies in EU is the persistence of the authoritarian leadership style of the past century.

That is true for Tesla with its chronic ongoing quality control issues that the CEO refused to deal with.
