Hey now, I wouldn't call it "horrible"... it's fully functional and has worked great for me.. in the NE Corridor, they love LIDAR up here, and the stock STiR+ laser shifters have saved my ass countless times.
Sure, I won't argue that ALP is better for laser detection/shifting, but the Belltronics is not "horrible". Also, the base ALP system with three sensors is adding on another $1400+tax+installation costs to whatever else you have for radar. If you've got the cash, sure, go for it, but adding ALP easily doubles the cost when the Belltronics shifters actually do an adequate job.
