What I got out of this is that we just need to get the Chinese to kidnap him so he’ll stop screwing with FSD…. 🥴

<Joking>

I’m sure that Musk was not talking about system security because they don’t talk about that with people outside the company…

It was interesting that Mike was black balled on a computer security article in 2011 because it could be inflammatory!

It should be noted that Musk’s support of Ukraine via Starlink probably enraged the Russians, and I’m sure cased addition security focus on Tesla’s OS.

One thing to note about the guest is he says a lot of true things, but he also does a lot of generalizing with includes false numbers related to statistics. “90% of everyone has Solarwinds…” No, 90% did not. “The people who built the Yugo would have been hanging there head in shame…” for building the software that makes FSD… “it can’t go 10 mile without having an accident…” Not to mention that he didn’t know that a Tesla is not a drive-by wire vehicle with respect to either the brakes or the steering wheel!

Basically, their guest’s credibility is shot within the first 20 minutes of the interview. So much so that I’m concerned if he had any responsibility for coding anything in the B2 bomber…. (Let alone the B-52, B1, or anything else.)

What seems to be going on is that he has a lot of preconceived notions about Tesla and full self driving, and he does not seem to have done his current research on the capabilities or the facts on how it actually works and what the overall vehicle design is.

IMO: he is a naysayer who does not like the idea of full self driving and cannot disconnect that from reality when it’s staring him in the face. More over, he’s not interested in knowing the specifics of the system because he doesn’t like it to the extreme.

That being said, a lot of his concerns about industrial security related to Internet attached systems is actually legitimate. Of course, that’s where he gets all his credibility from and he uses that to overcome his lack of credibility when it comes to talking about FSD.

We all know that FSD has problems, there’s no doubt about that. That being said, if millions of cars were crashing in the stuff all the time, nobody would have FSD. However, that’s simply not the case…
