Reserved 11AM Pacific on 3/31/16.
Invited to configure on 2/28/18.
Configured on 8/6/18. Assigned to Marina Del Rey delivery center.
Config is RWD, Deep Blue Metallic, 18" Aero, no EAP.
By 8/9, my Edit button had disappeared, my trade-in self evaluation had been processed and an offer was added, and a loan application link had been made available under Payment Method.
I submitted my loan application the following week on 8/16 after a customer support rep told me delivery was likely coming soon and now is a good time to shop for financing offers.
Since then I've seen only one change on my order page (Delivery estimate moved from "October - December" to "by late September") and have received one message from Tesla (Model 3 RWD now available for instant delivery ). I made it through hold times and spoke to customer service one more time on 8/21 and was told that a VIN had been assigned in the past day or two (So three weeks ago now), a Delivery Specialist has been assigned to my order, and that I could expect to hear from that person within 7 business days.
I'm now 5 weeks in with no contact about my order, for 3 of which I've had a VIN and delivery personnel assigned to me, and was invited to take "instant delivery" this past weekend much to my chagrin.
I now have a trade-in offer that's past its 30 day expiration window, multiple CU financing offers awaiting responses/purchase agreements, and a loan application on my order page which doesn't seem to have resulted in any credit inquiries yet. When I last peeked at @Troy's order tracking spreadsheet, my time waiting for VIN was an extreme outlier among many sub-10 day VIN recipients.
Is there anything I can do now to speed this along or get more insight into what's happening with my order? It's really starting to wear on me, and 40+ minutes on hold with a call center that refuses to have or let me use a call back service is not what my life is about right now.
