This latest update (new PM magnet motor in the front and improvements to the "adaptive" suspension) may being bringing in adaptive damping. IMO, Tesla has played fast and loose with the adaptive suspension stuff. To date, all cars have had fixed damping rates. I love my early P85D with "performance" suspension (read - stiffer bump and rebound damping) and have seen no upgrade path as the car has aged. I'm hopeful Tesla is adding adjustable damping and that one of the available settings will replicate what I have with my current Model S.
Sooooo, given we schmucks on the far East Coast will likely be the last to get a look at the new cars, can one of my fellow Tesla fans on the West Coast provide some technical feedback when/if you get a chance to drive the newest iteration?
Thanks Much,
Bill
