I an looking to install a small shelf in the area above the passenger's feet and below the dashboard. Below is a picture of the mock-up.
I know there's a knee airbag that deploys below the glovebox. I'd like to know exactly where it deploys and how large it is, so the shelf doesn't interfere with the airbag.
What I have now is cardboard, held in place with 4 small velcro tabs that engage the carpet. The grey strip is just a vinyl edge to give the cardboard a little more rigidity.
Right now it extends about 12" from the firewall. I need to make that less, but not sure how much less.
