LR AWD Performance (Stealth TM3) Waiting Room

Ordered my stealth MSM 18in FSD on 11.21. The My Tesla Page updated my delivery date to 11/30 and assigned me a VIN yesterday.

I emailed my advisor today about picking up my car between December 5th and December 18th due to being out of town for Thanksgiving. He said that the max they could hold the car at the gate was 3 days and that if I couldnt pick up the car in this time frame, my reservation would be released :(:(:(

Never heard of this policy before. Really bummed out. Is my advisor screwing me over?

Nope, I was told the exact same thing.

It was odd. He first said that my LR AWD would come in as fast as the stealths, but I asked him if I could switch anyway. He then told me he had to call me back after he talked to his manager - as (at the time) he thought my original order might come through any time as it was ordered 10/11. He said there were hundreds of stealths available (last Wednesday), so an hour or so wouldn't hurt.

He called me back and hadn't talked to his manager - and told me that "on the ground" stealths didn't match my color. But, my color was red or white. I kept asking why no whites as they were one of the biggest sellers? He never really answered that. He then reiterated that my order of a LR AWD would come in at the same time or likely earlier than the "other" batch of stealths that were "in production." This never made sense no matter what question I asked him. He's been working as an SA for 2 years, so he knows the drill. Perhaps the new computers system threw him.

When I spoke to him Friday, he reiterated that my original order was on the top of the pile - but that just seems to mean that SAs don't know what to tell me. He STILL hadn't spoken to his manager. I tied to call his manager, but couldn't get through. I really wanted a stealth, but I have a deadline before late December after which I will not easily be able to pick anything up - if at all.

So yes, the SA sucks! He doesn't seem to care about anything. And, as far as I can tell, I don't know of a way to officially change an SA. The only think I can think of is that since I couldn't pick up a car ASAP in early October, I have a "mark" against me in delivery priority - as if I am not to be trusted.

I don't get what to do?! Wait, I guess? I can't trust this SA for sure! I'm about to enter week 8 of waiting with no idea of even a vague timeframe.

Honestly at this point, you should get another SA to help you and switch to a Stealth.

congrats!
Was this at the Fremont hub?
Any issues with quality?

Nashville. Mine was already in inventory in Pittsburgh when I switched to stealth on 11/20, so they shipped it over. My VIN ends in 5868xx, but it is a 2020.

I looked over every inch and messed with all the electronics. Couldn't find a single issue.

Wow, did you get a blue on White Stealth? The holy grail??? lol, beautiful car.

Black interior. I'm too messy for white anything lol.

Does anyone know the number for the delivery center that services the PNW? I am taking delivery in northern Idaho, and I think it comes through Seattle first. But none of the Seattle area Tesla locations are labeled as a "Delivery Center", but maybe the Bellevue on 20th st serves at the DC?
I would just call the Bellevue 20th Street and see what info they have. If they aren't the right location, they will at least get you to someone who knows.

If you don't have any luck with them, call the Portland one. Even if you aren't getting a car from them, they are extremely helpful.

Good idea. I've even reached out to a delivery center manager. No one wants to mess with my account. I swear they think that my current SA owns my account - owns me. I can't shake this guy, and he doesn't want to lift a finger to spend more than a few minutes to find me anything.

I have thought of showing up at the showroom on Friday. But it's not like a conventional dealership where I can demand another salesperson. No commissions at Tesla, and therefore no effort.

Man, I hate to see you miss out on these stealths and watch from the sidelines. It appears your SA just didn't know what they were doing? So strange...

He did know. When he gave me a test ride a few months ago, we talked a bit. He's been with Tesla over 2 years. Personally I don't think he wanted to take the time to do it. He certainly never got to talk to his manager about me for 3 days (Wed-Fri).

That's why I wonder if I am being passed over because I had to decline a car (couldn't pick up in time) in October. They all tell me that my re-order (10/11) is due for a VIN soon, but they keep telling me that. Nothing happens. Why they avoid trying to get me a stealth is really strange. Whatever I do - I can't get a stealth.

Oh hell, I'll just show up Friday and get all aggressive and try to talk to the SA that seems to own me. It can't hurt at this point. It will be a Black Friday zoo in there - but it will be worth it rather than waiting for no information.

Just order a Stealth from someone else and cancel your current order. It's worth losing the $100 if it means getting what you want.

Managed to make 5-6 miracles happen today, and was able to take delivery today before I go out of town. The delivery hub was surprisingly quiet given that a couple people on the phone said they were fully booked.
I’m jealous. I had the option of taking delivery of my car at 5pm today but the wifey sent me on a journey to pick up turkey and ham from the Honey Baked Ham Co. in Oakland. What a sh**show that was.

Just to add here and agreeing to few posts, definitely this forum was great help and need to follow up with advisor and pursue to get stealth. I saw vin in source code 2 days ago but did not received any text so called Fremont DC in the morning and advisor scheduled my delivery for 11/30 on the call. She said they hadn’t gotten around to send text yet.

Config: MSM, 18”, all black, no FSD. Originally ordered on 11/20 LR AWD, upgraded to stealth on 11/25.

These forums have been a HUGE help in finding out information on how to get things moving and keep them moving. I saw a recommendation that going into the chat on the "Existing Inventory" page for M3 could help get the ball rolling and sure enough after chatting for a few minutes I ended up getting a phone call from a Vegas delivery specialist within 10 minutes. From there a request was made to switch my order to a stealth from my original order of a LR AWD. The request was put in the system but I never did see any updates on my overview page throughout the day today so I kept digging. With some more researching in the forums I ran across a user on here that was kind enough to hook me up with his SA since I didn't have one assigned and she was awesome. After reaching out to her she was extremely helpful and informed me that there are stealths popping up in their inventories ready to be assigned (most pre-production). She sent me a snapshot of her monitor at work that showed a pre-production stealth that matched my LR AWD configuration with a VIN already issued and she proceeded to allocate it to me. I checked my account and I had a VIN assigned in the source code that matched the M3 in the picture she had just shown me and my order agreement was updated to reflect a "performance" model with the added cost for a stealth package. I got prompted a few minutes ago to make a payment on the outstanding balance so I scheduled a payment and the next step is to have someone reach out and schedule a delivery time for me.

Config: Stealth, Black/Black, 18", no FSD. Originally ordered on 11/24 as LR AWD Black/Black, 18", no FSD.

Find a stealth through one of the SAs people are posting, get there contact thru pm, get a new reservation and VIN since no one wants to mess with your order, and cancel your other order. You will lose $100 but $100 and you get the car you want is nothing. It takes literally 4 seconds to cancel your order after you get a new one. Tell the new SA that finds you an SA that you will be canceling the old order. Or keep an eye out for a stealth hitting inventory if you want.

Another good point! Frankly I don't care if I have to order 20 stealths - the deposits are not a big deal to me. I am serious. If it takes ordering a dozen or more cars - fine. I just want the car and need it now (or by Dec 15th).

OK ... can anyone in the Bay Area PM me the name of a good SA who can order me a stealth - someone who is proactive and will not sit on their thumbs? I just need his/her direct phone/text information. They need to be able to take the info over the phone so that I can order a new car that is close to production - or even past that stage.

I will forever be in your debt! Thanks.

To add some info from my current situation.
White/Black, 19s - ordered 10/13, switched to stealth on 11/21.
Received my delivery text to pickup at Fremont delivery center. Only given 2 dates to choose from 11/29 and 11/30.
I'm working both those dates. Tried calling the Fremont delivery number but of course noone answered. I was in the Fremont area so I stopped in at 4pm.
Spoke to Jessie at the front desk. Asked him if there was anyone I could change it to Monday.
He said they are closed on Mondays (can anyone verify) but the latest he could do was Sunday at 4pm.
I still haven't heard back from BoA about my paperwork from the underwriter or received the "Truth in Lending".

What would happen if I can't pick up Sunday? Ive heard stories about them giving away the vehicle. But that sounds like a headache having to apply for loans, insurance with a new VIN, etc.

I wouldn't care so much but this 12/3 deadline is making me feel rushed with everything.

I lost a LR AWD in early October. I couldn't pick it up in the 2 or 3 day window that they gave me. I was told by one of the delivery associates that it was "pick it up, or not pick it up" during that time.

Can you take a day off from work? Call in sick? If you don't have your finance paper ready - then I don't think you are going to find a bank that is open to finish that kind of paperwork. Maybe. Good luck!
