Ordered Feb 7th
Black
White Interior
19'
EA + FSD
Deliver scheduled for: March 23rd (Dedham delivery Center in MA) I actually chose this date ;)
But I dont even have the option to pay the pending amount before delivery available yet,
No VIN yet :(

Just placed my order!!

I don't want to take delivery until June so not in a rush. Not sure whether to call them to tell them I want the car in June or wait for them to call me...

Tesla chat rep said to wait for them to call me..but maybe doesn't hurt to be proactive?? Don't want them to assign me a VIN for earlier delivery if they have to put some type of hold on the order.

I did the same thing.. order in Feb and wanted it deliver on March, so I called and ask them to schedule it for the date I wanted.. no issues. But better to play safe

Our son and daughter-in-law ordered 2019 M3 LR AWD with:
  • Pearl White Multi-Coat Paint
  • Black interior
  • 19" Sport Wheels
  • AP + FSD
... from our local Newport Beach Tesla store a week ago Friday and took deliver at the Costa Mesa Delivery Center 2 days later. This probably because the M3 they wanted was pre-built and sitting at the local lot, they're cash buyers... and had all their paperwork digitized in Acrobat PDF documents including their proof of insurance ready to go when they ordered.

YMMV

Well i finally just called to make sure i had completed everything correctly. The rep checked my account and said "Well he have a VIN assigned to you, but for some reason they haven't assigned you a Delivery specialist yet"...So she was gonna take care of that for me and said i should get a call tomorrow. Starting to get excited. Glad i called or i may have sat in some queue for a while longer.

A little update:
I just called them, they said I will get a VIN number later today by mail. MY delivery date is confirmed for 3/23 and they said that I will get a delivery advisor couple of days before delivery, and that at that point when I confirmed all is ready the delivery date will appear on my tesla account.

An update on my experience that might be relevant for others who "qualify" for home delivery, like other Rhode Islanders. I placed an order (AWD, LR, AP and FSD) on March 1. "Expected delivery within 2 weeks from order placed date." I got an email today from my Home Delivery Specialist (the first time I heard from them, proactively, since I got my automated intro e-mail at the time of ordering). I "qualify" for home delivery due to the distance to the nearest service center (which is ~ 50 miles). I asked about, and was given, the VIN, but not a delivery date. And I was sent an e-mail of "Home Delivery Expectations," which include:
a) I have to fully pay for the car before they will schedule delivery (I'm paying cash).
b) they cannot specify a delivery date (even after I pay) because the car has to be shipped to a service center and then a local carrier hired to take the car to my house. They expect this process to take 2-3 weeks.
c) No delivery specialist accompanies the car - the carrier just drops it off. But Tesla offered to go over it with me at a later date if I make an appointment at a service center.
d) they will Fed Ex me my registration documents, but only 7 days after the car has been delivered and my final payments made (taxes and registration, presumably, but they did no specify) so the car sits in my garage for a week post-delivery.

My nearest service center is only 50 miles away and i offered to pick the car up there, once paperwork is complete. Then I can pay when I inspect the car. We'll see what they say.

Update on my scenario.Got an email last night saying that I needed to make the final payment and with a delivery date of march 14th(tomorrow), went to my tesla account and found my vin number. 2019 model.

Called the delivery center to confirm the appointment, made the payment and ready to get my car tomorrow!!
Very Excited.
Also found a great checklist for delivery that might help anyone of you when the time comes:

My first post. I'm in Sunnyvale, CA, and I ordered a blue LR AWD/ 18" wheels/ black interior / AP on Sunday 3/11. Received a flurry of texts on Monday making sure all my info was correct, asking how I planned to pay, etc. The guy on the other end said that a delivery specialist would reach out to me very soon, but that my car had already been assigned and was being detailed as of Monday night.

Haven't heard anything since. :/
