Well I took the plunge and picked up a 2024 Model 3 Performance. I immediately spliced in an OBD-II adapter (turns out there's a jumper harness on Amazon...hindsight) to grab some CAN data, and went straight to the drag strip with the 2021 in tow.
Here's the results from the drag strip.
It confirms what I had hoped - which is that while not a dramatic improvement in speed, there's a pretty noticeable difference across the entire power band. I hope this is good enough for about 2 seconds per minute on the road course.
The Build. Basically, the plan is to swap everything on the White 2021 Model 3 (basically the entire MPP catalogue) onto the 2024. I'll document everything in this thread. Curious to see what I find, and what kind of challenges are presented.
