Maximum Tires Size Model Y Performance?

I am trying to determine what the maximum tires size anyone can confirm so far on the MYP. I just swapped over to my winter setup, but will to replace the Pirelli’s come next spring. I am running 20mm spacer in the front and 25mm spacers in the rear.

I would like to run Vredestein Quatrac Pro’s.
Front:
275/40R21
Rear:
285/40R21

I believe I have seen some members post the rear size being okay, but I believe the front might be a little ambitious?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Solution
I run 265/40R21 on the front and would not suggest going any larger — thus I agree with your intuition that 275/40R21 is a bit “ambitious”. I can virtually guarantee significant rubbing should this size rubber be mounted on the MYP with stock Uberturbines.

With regard to the proposed size for the rear axle, you can confidently mount your proposed spec (285/40R21) without issue.

Good luck.
looks like I’m going to get around 35k out of my 295/40r21 Michelin PSAS4’s, 2 good summer seasons out of them. I’ll be swapping into my winter setup here in the next 2 months or so. I will need to replace the PSAS4’s going into next spring.

Anyone have any info on running 305/30r21’s in the rear? My current 295/40’s are running a 10mm spacer.

Has anyone ran the 275/35/21 and 295/35/21 setup with spacers on a MYP? Please post pics if you have.

Was planning on getting 10mm/18mm spacers to flush the wheels out a little bit more.

Rolling stock right now...

I really appreciate everyone who contributed here, I know to get 265/40 F, 285/40 R on the stock 21 uberturbines. I am also running spacers, but I was curious to see if anyone has done this tire set up that also has lowering springs (plenty of room in the front, but the larger sidewall in the rear might be an issue? Really hoping I can keep the stance, and get some thicker sidewalls for a smoother ride and more rim protection (more than 10k miles for a set would be nice too lol)
What size spacers are you running front and back? any more pics at different angles? Looks great so far! I'm looking to do the same, also interested in a drop, but want to also keep the spacers.

I'm trying to decide what size square set up will be best for MYP. I want to get HF-5s but unsure about getting 20x9.5 or 20x10.5 all around.

I want to run a square setup. What would be the best tire size? I really want to run a 45-side wall over the 40. Will it be an issue?

Pictured below is 255/40/20.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I went down to 19’s on my MYP 255/45/19, Personally I think 45’s look best. Either one will work.

45s on 20” wheels will be fine (255/45R20 overall diameter is actually marginally LESS than the 265/40R21 that I and many others run on the MPP). And, if a square set up is important, I’d go with the 9.5” wheels and *perhaps* use a spacer on the rear to push the wheel outward for a more substantive appearance. Good luck.

if i ran it staggered 20x9.5 and 20x10.5.

what width would you suggest on 45s

If staggered as suggested above, then…

F: 20x9.5 wheel with 255/45R20 rubber
R: 20x10.5 wheel with 285/40R20 rubber

This would result in rubber that is roughly 1” wider on the rear to match the 1” wider wheel as well as an overall diameter and sidewall dimension that is virtually identical front to back.

Good luck.

Hi all. I’ve been reading your forum for a long time, and I couldn’t find the parameters of winter tires for my Tesla Y Performance. I decided to take a risk and install winter tires 275/40/21 at the front, 295/40/21 at the rear. I hasten to report that everything turned out great. When turning, you feel a slight touch of the front wheel liner. The front knuckle is critically close to the tire, but this does not interfere. Be careful! I bought Chinese tires that have proven themselves in our country (Russia). Tire name ILINK Snowgripper2. Tires from other companies must be checked separately.

I have 3 sets of rims (19" CS Black, 20" CS Gunmetal ,21" UT) and I'm still undecided of what I'm going to do.
Currently my 2 right tires are shot from a pothole, so they need to be either replaced or I completely strip the wheels down and reuse the TPMS sensors and sell the remaining tires and rims.
Do mind that the rims are all slightly damaged because of the stredged tires and no sidewall to protect them.

As almost everyone is running 265/40/21 on the fronts. Is there still some clearance left for larger tires?
Would 275/45/20 work on the fronts as well?

and
Michelin Pilot Sport EV 295/40 R21 111Y XL, FR B B 74db
