MCU Upgrade Warranty Question

In Dec of 2022 I upgraded to MCU 2, thinking for some reason that there was a 2 year warranty on this part. June 2024 and the MCU2 is dead, and Tesla Arlington in charging me yet another 2500 to replace it. Does anyone know the true warranty on this thing? I’m over this company.

The Tesla Parts, Body & Paint Repair Limited Warranty begins on the purchase date of the part(s), and coverage extends for a period of 12 months or 12,500 miles, which ever comes first. Specific categories of parts have unique warranty coverage periods:

• Sheet metal: Limited lifetime
• Drive Unit*: 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first
• Vehicle High Voltage Battery*: 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first
• Wall Connectors: 4 years for personal use, 12 months for commercial use
• Touchscreen and Media Control Unit: 2 years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first
• Clear Protection Film**: 10 years
• Color Paint Film**: 5 years

Thanks for confirming. After several hours and emails, they agreed to cover it. What’s most frustrating is that I had the original work done at this very location. I paid too much for this vehicle AND the upgrade to be dealing with these clowns. Never again.
