Mid ‘16 Model S- Emergency Breaking?

I’ve got a post refresh ‘16 Model S with AP1. On a couple of occasions I’ve gotten the warning that I am approaching a car too fast.

Here’s my question- if I didn’t intervene and brake, would the car stop itself? Assuming autopilot is off.

No, it will not stop the car, the manual states that Automatic Emergency Braking will only "minimize the impact of a frontal collision by attempting to reduce your driving speed". This happens after the Forward Collision Warning has gone off and no action is taken.
